Our IT Managed Services Plans
We offer two plans
Standard Plan for businesses in need of tried and tested cybersecurity support with no special compliance or industry regulations. This plan comes with a strong set of cybersecurity tools including our EDR/MDR product, our SASE product (and/or next generation firewall with IDS/IPS), plus our Microsoft 365 monitoring tools to watch for suspicious activities and lock down access. Also included is Microsoft Business Standard and Microsoft Defender for Office365 Plan 1, which offers basic protection against phishing, malware and spam. Great plan for the construction and engineering sectors, veterinary clinics, and the insurance industry.
Elite Plan for healthcare, financial institutions, and other businesses that fall under compliance such as FTC Safeguards or FINRA. Also recommended for companies that seek stronger protection against phishing, ransomware, and account compromises. Elite is also the choice for companies facing cyber insurance policy requirements. Elite has all the tools found in our Standard Plan plus it adds an annual risk assessment, vulnerability scan and pentest. We also include backups of the entire Microsoft 365 tenant and ongoing cyber awareness training for all staff. Also included is Microsoft Business Premium along with Microsoft Defender for Office365 Plan 2 for advanced protection against phishing, malware and spam and automated investigation and response. A basic set of policies and procedures including an incident response plan is included. Great plan for accounting firms, financial planners, medical, credit unions, title and loan companies, and law firms.
ALL IT MANAGED SERVICES PLANS INCLUDE SOFTWARE LICENSES:
- Microsoft 365 Business Premium licenses: These licenses include advanced features to help stop phishing attacks, spam, and overseas attacks. We can lock your M365 tenant down to only allow your company-owned devices to access M365 resources. Also included encryption for sensitive emails.
- Datto EDR/MDR with RocketCyber SOC: Attacks happen at all times of the day, so a SOC (security operations center) is a must to take action 24/7 if needed.
ALL IT MANAGED SERVICES PLANS INCLUDE HELPDESK AND CONSULTING SERVICES:
- We have a 24/7 helpdesk because many of our clients do not work standard business hours or they are located on various time zones across the country. We do NOT outsource our helpdesk overseas!
- Need help picking out a new Internet provider? Ask us! We have experience with all the big names.
- Hardware/software purchases? Thinking about a new website? Trying to pick out a good cloud storage service? Ask! We are here to help you make an educated decision and offer recommendations. We are also a Dell and Microsoft reseller.
ALL IT MANAGED SERVICES PLANS INCLUDE A 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE:
We want to be the best IT partner for your business. The partnership should be a win-win for us both. The first 90-days of an IT Managed Services support agreement is critical and brings about a lot of changes. If you are unhappy after the first 90 days, please let us know so we can make it right. However, if nothing can be done, we will terminate the agreement and provide the passwords and documentation we have related to your IT infrastructure.

Case Study: Standard Operation for Public Transportation
LexTran is the public transportation provider in Lexington with multiple locations and an in-house IT person managing their network infrastructure. They faced challenges due to a mix of outdated network switches spread across various sites, making network management cumbersome.Challenge:
Outdated Equipment: The IT manager was dealing with a variety of switches of different ages across multiple locations, complicating management and maintenance.
Management Complexity: Lack of centralized management for these switches required significant manual effort to update and monitor network performance.
Solution Implemented:
Standardization: We worked with LexTran over a period of time to replace all the old switches with Ubiquiti switches, providing a uniform infrastructure that is easier to manage.
Cloud-Based Management: Implemented a centralized management solution using Hostifi. This allowed the IT manager to control all switches from a single cloud-based console, making updates and monitoring much more efficient.
Training: In addition to deploying the new systems, we provided training for the IT manager to effectively manage and update the switches using the new cloud management system.
Case Study: Hardware Refresh Within Budget Constraints
A small veterinary practice with limited budget and aging hardware—some computers were as old as 6 to 10 years. The practice was experiencing slow performance, and their server was not set up as a domain controller, leading to fragmented access to files and inefficient workflows.Challenge:
Budget Constraints: The practice's limited budget restricted their ability to purchase brand-new hardware.
Inefficient Systems: Old computers and a poorly configured server were causing delays and frustration for the staff.
Lack of Centralized Management: Without a domain controller, managing user profiles and access to data was challenging.
Solution Implemented:
Cost-Effective Hardware Upgrades: Sourced and installed refurbished desktops with modern specifications, providing a significant performance boost without exceeding the budget.
Centralized Management Setup: Configured the existing server as a domain controller and joined all new desktops to this domain. This enabled centralized management of user profiles and data access.
Roaming Profiles: Implemented roaming profiles to allow veterinary technicians to access their files seamlessly across different workstations.
Case Study: An Engineering Firm Takes To The Cloud
An engineering firm in Lexington that relied on an aging on-premises server, which was becoming increasingly difficult and costly to maintain. With employees frequently traveling across the state and to other states, they needed a solution that offered secure remote access and improved collaboration.Challenge:
Aging On-Premises Server: The existing server was outdated, costly to maintain, and lacked the capabilities required for efficient remote access.
High Costs: Replacing the server with a new on-premises solution would have been extremely expensive.
Remote Work Limitations: Engineers working in different locations had difficulty accessing files and collaborating effectively.
Solution Implemented:
Cloud Migration: Retired the on-premises server and migrated all data and applications to Microsoft 365. This included moving files to OneDrive and Teams for improved collaboration.
Security Enhancements: Upgraded to Microsoft 365 Premier licenses to enhance security, including advanced threat protection and improved compliance capabilities.
Gradual Rollout: Executed the migration in stages over about a month, ensuring minimal disruption to the firm's operations.
Case Study: When The Cloud Isn't Right For Your Business
An engineering firm based out of state that had previously migrated to the cloud but was dissatisfied with the performance and cost-effectiveness of their cloud provider. They wanted to revert to an on-premises solution to regain control over their data and reduce costs.Challenge:
Performance Issues: The existing cloud solution was not meeting performance expectations, causing delays and impacting productivity.
Cost Concerns: The ongoing cloud expenses were becoming unsustainable for the firm.
Complex Migration Requirements: Moving back to an on-premises setup required careful planning to prevent data loss and minimize downtime.
Solution Implemented:
Custom On-Premises Deployment: Designed and deployed a new on-premises server solution tailored to the firm's needs.
Data Migration: Managed the migration of data from the cloud back to the new server, ensuring data integrity and security.
On-Site Support: Sent a technician on-site to Pennsylvania to oversee the transition, ensuring a smooth migration process.

Here's What Our Clients Are Saying About Our Services
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About Lexington Managed IT Services
How do you provide 24/7 IT support for businesses in Lexington?
Our 24/7 IT support is managed by a North American-based help desk, ensuring that you always speak to a trained professional who understands your needs. Unlike many MSPs that outsource support to overseas call centers, we prioritize local and responsive service. Additionally, our support services come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, reflecting our commitment to exceptional service.
How does onboarding work if I switch to Next Century Technologies for Managed IT Services?
Onboarding typically starts with the service agreement approval, point-of-contact assignment, documentation transfer, and deployment of our monitoring and security tools.
First, the service agreement outlines what to expect from us and what we expect from you to make this a successful partnership. Once that is accepted, you tell us who our main point-of-contact (POC) will be at your office. The POC will be the one who approves any purchases and is kept abreast of ongoing issues. Next, we set you up in our helpdesk ticketing and accounting systems and send welcome letters from our Service Manager and Office Manager. We then send the first invoice and create a ticket just for our on- boarding process. We will also set up a meeting with your POC to start on-boarding.
During our On-Boarding meeting, we will: Review the process Establish date of responsibility and date of launch Demonstrate our ticket portal Get old IT provider documentation (if available) Take or ask for pictures of IT room, wiring closet, and any racks for our documentation, if applicable Review Information Request List and help POC fill it out if needed For each vendor, find out if we need to be authorized to call in on their behalf. Examples would be the ISP, telcos and critical line-of- business apps, if applicable Get agreement on Security Standards (initialing exceptions) Who approves password changes?
We then document all the information we have gathered thus far into our documentation system. We set up your company and contacts in our remote monitoring and management software. Next, our team meets to: Assign duties to each person Review the on-boarding process Share photos of the site, if applicable.
On the launch day, there is a lot to do: Meet each employee, introduce ourselves and provide our contact information, either in-person or virtually Install our monitoring and antivirus agents on each covered computer Train employees on using our ticket portal Encourage employees to create tickets for issues that need to be addressed Perform Security Checklist to see what is missing and what needs to be addressed in a ticket Finalize backups, if applicable Install other services, as needed Install or schedule installation of new hardware, if applicable.
After the launch day, our team meets and discusses how the on-boarding went and how we can improve it. We then review the Security Checklist plus any other issues with the POC. Lastly, we update our documentation system.
